Megalithic Routes’ annual meeting on November 13, 2023

Megalithic Routes’ annual annual meeting took place on Monday 13 November at Trigueros in Andalusia, Spain. This year it was dedicated to 10 years of Megalithic Routes. We organised that jointly with Cultural Routes Rock Art. Both conferences took place one after the other and in both cases megalithic monuments were the focus.

Near Trigueros, where the conferences took place, stands the famous megalithic monument Soto. It is 100 years since this monument was found. Since then, it has been restored and made accessible to the public. The Rock Art conference focused on this 100-year celebration. Through many interesting presentations, interpretation was given to the significance of Soto and other megalithic monuments in Europe.

The next annual meeting will take place in spring 2024. More on this will follow at a later date.
